All
those who recognize God's plan of salvation for humanity (Jn.3.16-17), and
accept the sovereignty of King Jesus in their lives are "called to be
saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ (1-Co.1.2), for without holiness no one will see the Lord (He.12.14)
The
apostle Paul exhorts us: "... let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness
of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God"
(2-Co.7.1). The word "holy" is the title of those who are, in their
way of life, "set apart for God," who have "died to sin",
thus being justified before God (Ro.6.7).
"Die
to sin" is not having the habit attitudes that go against the divine
government. Anyone can have occasional errors and unpremeditated, which can be
amended or corrected. Because as long as we humans live in the presence of sin,
and we have to fight against his power. But when our sinful tendencies dominate
us above our sincere desires to please God, it is clear indication that we are
still "carnal" (1-Co.3.1-3), not born again in the Spirit of God.
