Jesus Christ said: "Think not that I
came to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
"(Mt.10.34) The apostle Paul added: "For the kingdom of God is not in
word, but in power ..." 1-Co.4.20). The power of speech here is not one
with which Satan and his forces of evil and subject us cringe; do not. To which
Paul refers is the enormous resources that our Creator is making available for
"do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good" (Ro.12.21).
Therefore, it is not about having a passive
and resigned attitude toward the evil that oppresses us. Our members should be
at the service of justice (Ro.6.19). Peace is the result of it. Therefore, the
Master said, "... seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things (basic necessities like food, clothing, etc.) shall be
added." (Mt.6.33).
If each of us fulfills his duties well, as
"a good soldier of Jesus Christ" (2-Ti.2.3), then all believers will
"stand fast in one spirit, striving together for the faith of the gospel,
and in nothing terrified by those opposing, which to them is a proof of
destruction, but to you of salvation; and that of God. "(Fil.1.27-28).
Those who fight "the good fight of
faith" (1-Ti.6.12) did not use firearms, short pulse, or any other kind of
weapons materials, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but
mighty through God for the destruction of fortresses "; (2-Co.10.4); even
we should try to convince by force others in our convictions, (Mt.10.11-14).
We have such noble means as is solidarity.
All Christians surely will not be full agreement on many issues; but certainly
we believe that if we adopt a common attitude towards many things we must do or
not do in the sacred enjoy the freedom that gives us the social state of law in
which we live, we will adopt such attitudes, to improve our conditions life,
"for that reason you also pay taxes ..." (Ro.13.6).
A palpable example of this is the great
national liberation promoted and obtained Mahatma Gandhi, with only appeal to
the right to freedom that the law gave him not to buy certain items that the
British Empire was at their disposal. He overcame evil with good and St. Paul
recommends us to do the Christians.
This we will do when we wake up from the
lethargy of resignation, indifference and irresponsibility to what the Messiah
demand of us, (Mt.25.34-46; Ef.5.13-17). This does not mean we should be state
employees, since we know that "... Worship the Lord your God, and serve
him" because, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is
God" (Lc.4.8).
As
citizens who pay taxes assist us rights that may become useful tools for
through collective acts (of the Church) can exalt our King Salvador sublime and
wonderful kingdom that between us grows and grows like a great tree, where
abused and neglected the world to dwell safely sheltered from its branches.
(Mt.13.31-32)
