BOTH FACES OF THE FAITH

Speaking of faith we can do it in two perspectives: Conceptual or emotional. Although at lower levels of the mind these different aspects are intermingled, it is appropriate to differentiate.

When, for example, the Bible says, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism" (Ef.4.5), refers to the doctrinal, conceptual, word of the Kingdom appearance. When Peter, in his attempt to walk on water, he fails, he is told: "man of little faith" (Mt.14.31); here reference to the emotional sense of faith is made.

Our beliefs  shape and strength to our actions and emotional reactions. When faith grows conceptually leads to the doctrine, more or less consistent with the biblical context and human reality (Ro.10.17)

Faith without doctrine is an immature emotional relationship, without identity, and therefore irresponsible with itself and its social environment. A doctrinal system can be harmful when by their actions or inactions prove unproductive or unfair, since in the same way that a truth within a religious community, frees us from the power of evil in all its manifestations, we can see applied the justice of the Kingdom of God. So it is written: "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (Jn.8.32).
